New Austin Developments in for Approval (9/5 - 9/9)

Austin goes from darling of the US to latest city to bash as overpriced in ''Best Of' lists but there's still phenomenally positive things to look forward to and be proud of.

Austin can still be the 'Next Austin' & LinkedGlenn is scouring the interwebs weekly to show most exciting projects submitted for site permit approval. Obviously getting full city approval will delay these projects ground breaking till 2023 but huge things are still ahead for Austin!

Blueridge Multifamily - 10500 Blue Bluff Rd.

Not much to report strictly from the site permit application listed as owned by Pete Dwyer but a 26.63-acre multifamily site just north of Walter E Long park on Blue Bluff Rd. and Toll 130 near Tesla would be a welcome addition to Eastern Travis County.

Longview - 8420 Longview Rd.

As reported in Austin Business Journal story this summer, StoryBuilt continues their infill development trend in Austin with permitting submitted for this 15-acre site in South Austin. Per previous reports, 116 total housing units planned with around 12 attached townhomes. Permit submitted as Condominiums but not sure if StoryBuilt has yet committed to individual sales or if units will be for rent upon completion, either way kudos to them for providing more and more urban development in Austin.

Burleson Residential - 7800 Burleson Rd.

Bercy Chen Studios appears ready to move forward with a multi-family development on a 16.15-acre site he has trying to rezone since 2020. Planning and Zoning Staff previously recommending denying Thomas Bercy rezoning of his property to mixed-use arguing it more important to preserve future industrial development in SE Austin. Apparently Thomas Bercy received approval for a multifamily development with current site permit submitted. Rezoning case mentioned constructing up to 258 apartment units above ground floor commercial uses so fingers crossed they are able to develop a similar housing numbers which would be a welcome addition to most any part of Austin.
